Untitled Document Press Release: Rubbings Racing Officially Closes Shop

ATLANTA, Ga. (January 30, 2022) - On Sunday, Rubbings Racing is officially closing shop. Effective immediately, Rubbings Racing is officially closing its doors after 21 years of NASCAR and other Motorsports coverage. It is with a heavy heart that we make this announcement. Christopher Smith, Founder and Executive Operations said, "It has been a pleasure to work with such a talented group of people over the past two decades. It is a tribute to their hard work and dedication that we have been able to stay on this incredible run."

Smith co-founded Rubbings Racing in 2000 with co-founder Christopher "DJ" DeSpain. Founded in 2000, Rubbings Racing started as a website for NASCAR fans to talk to one another, but quickly turned into a thriving news website. As a result of their coverage of the sport, the publication was chosen as inaugural members of NASCAR's Citizen Journalists Media Corps. in 2010. As a result of Sunday's announcement, the company will cease to produce content, writing as well as photography.
